During its seventh annual NCW conference, IDGA honored MIP for its success in establishing multinational joint C2 common core data standards that can enable and accelerate achieving transformational data strategies for international and national information sharing. MIP's C2 data sharing standard was adopted in 2007 by NATO, as STANAG 5525. The MIP is an open standards coalition partnership, a multinational command and control (C2) community of interest (COI), whose membership includes national representative from 26 nations, NATO, and Allied Command Transformation.
The IDGA is a non-partisan, information-based organization dedicated to the promotion of innovative ideas in public service and defense. Its NCW Awards honor, recognize and promote initiatives that exemplify the principles of network-centric warfare and support information age transformation. For more information, visit www.idga.org. The MIP documents evolves continuously as a result of the specification development process, the test outcomes and the study of new initiatives. The Model Driven Architecture Working Party (MDA WP) is currently working on new informal initiatives for MIP.
Baseline 3 continues its progress. Some new versions for several documents has been issued during WG-27. There is available a special page which shows the current status of the MIP documentation. The Baseline 2 was officially released during WG-19 and is now and here at disposal of the public audience. Visit the MIP Baseline 2 page (History) to have a look at. The MIP Website changes to better suit MIP users' and visitors' information needs. This is happening day by day. New features are being be incorporated and new pages added.
